As a church, we will be fasting and praying this month, and our theme is POSSIBILITIES. We believe in possibilities in 2024, but we need to deal with the things or issues that mitigate against us believing that things are possible and that things can be done. We live in an era and dispensation where everything is agreed, analysed and authenticated by science. If science does not agree with it, then it is not possible. Yet science still continues to break the boundaries of what we have previously thought was impossible. Possibilities are occurring in every realm of society: sports, engineering, medicine, arts and culture, music, the list is limitless, and all because someone somewhere took the limits placed on them and turned impossibilities into possibilities.
Therefore, our foundational scripture is found in
Matthew 17:20 (NKJV) 20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Our focus is on 3 major things during this fasting period, of which we will pray and also do:
Mark 9:23 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
Mark 11:23 (NIV)“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
This is why we are making declarations and confessions of possibilities during our time of fasting and praying.
Genesis 13:17 (NIV)Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.”
